Parts of the Oak House date from the 11th century. Inside, a stylish mix of old and new, places it at the boutique end of the design spectrum.

Steaks are cooked on the grill – 10oz rib-eye and arrive with triple-cooked chips, field mushroom and tomato, plus a choice of sauces. Starters include a seafood cocktail (crab, crayfish and prawns) or a tasting of pork which includes a pulled pork bonbon and Bramley apple purée.

Spiced monkish is an alternative to the red meat, accompanied by onion bhaji and textures of beetroot and sweet potato. For dessert, ‘chocolate orange’ combines chocolate soil, honeycomb and orange powder.

Our Tea & Coffee

Our coffee is supplied by Reads Coffee Roasters, an award-winning family run business in traditional drum roasting of Single Estate Arabica coffee. Based in Sherborne, Dorset.

The coffee we serve is the Sumatra Bourbon Espresso Blend. Bourbon beans are known for their deep, buttery chocolate flavours, as well as their sweetness and very light fruit overtones. They yield well-balanced coffees and are less common than other types of coffee beans as Bourbon plants generally carry fewer coffee cherries per plant than other varieties.

Our loose leaf tea is supplied by Ronnefeldt Teas,  who since 1823, have been offering the highest quality tea using only the Orthodox traditional method of producing tea, which means the tea is carefully selected and  manufactured primarily by hand.

The loose leaf tea’s we serve range from your traditional English Breakfast and Earl Grey to Mint, Green Tea and for the adventurous Granny’s Garden fruit tea! Ask our staff for the full range.
